  2. Does anyone know how the thesis registration process work?

    1. They don't send you any notification regarding this unless it's been rejected
    2. You can check it in the My Achievements section on TumOnline. It should indicate that the grade is pending
    3. Or Study Status/Curriculum. The thesis node should indicate that it's registered.

  3. How do we know if our thesis got registered or not? Is this P sign enough? Also where can I see my thesis deadline? I sent my registration on the 14th but I am not sure if they managed to process it before the 15th or not

    1. Studierendenkartei -> Abschlüsse and it should be listed there

  4. So, the CIT website mentions that the MSc thesis registration must happen up to 1 week before its start (15th). Q1: Is this deadline strict? Eg this is a Sunday in October, would it be ok to submit the form on Monday (9th Oct)? Q2: Is this submission Online or in Person? The form has the email for the responsible person but I'm assuming in-person.

    1. Q1: not strict (at least in my case) Q2: online via email

  5. Does anyone have the thesis submission form for Informatik? And also, do you know who to contact if I have questions regarding administrative stuffs for my thesis? I cannot find anything since the new website replaces the old one and the supervisor doesn't know

My experience was Contact general study advising [email protected] -> they redirect to informatics support [email protected] -> they redirect to either the secretary of your program or the head of the examination board -> they don't respond via email because they are "too busy" so you find their first/last name, look up their account on TUMOnline or https://www.professoren.tum.de/en/professors/alphabetical Then either find room, go in person and hope they have 5 min for your question if you're polite enough, or find phone and call them a few times around lunch to arrange an in-person meeting to ask your question

      I wish you luck and hope your process ends on one of the intermediate steps I did

  6. Does anyone know if the registration number on the form is the matriculation number or smth that the administration fills?

    1. It is the matriculation number

  7. Does anyone know if it is possible to write your thesis at an external Uni?

    1. Afaik yes. you still have to have a TUM prof to "co-supervise”
    2. You need one prof from Informatik at any cost, no matter where you do your thesis
